I went down to the pond every morning
For two winters I took a sketchbook out to the bank and watched the ice change colour. Back home, that became eleven canvases. They're all blue, yet no two are the same.

Water Under Ice
Eleven canvases about what happens beneath the surface when no one is looking.
Anna Whitlock spent two winters painting by the pond beyond the village. Instead of the landscape, she captured layers of ice, bubbles and the shadows of reeds. Blue is the only colour she used in the series.
The paintings are acrylic on canvas, from 60 × 60 to 140 × 90 cm. Four already have owners, and the rest are available directly from the studio.
